    BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

    Alan R. Coyner

     Alan R. Coyner is a native of Texas, but spent his formative years in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1966 to 1971 he attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan and received an Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued graduate studies in Geology at the University of Minnesota Duluth in Duluth, Minnesota.

    Mr. Coyner worked for a number of mining companies during his school years and after graduation including Kennecott Copper, Midwest Oil, Texasgulf, Noranda Exploration, Exxon, and Quintana Minerals. In 1978 he joined Kerr-McGee Oil Corporation of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as an exploration geologist. His primary duties involved uranium, base and precious metal exploration in the upper midwest of the United States. In 1988, Alan was transferred to Reno, Nevada to participate in Kerr-McGee's gold exploration program in Nevada and several western states.

    In 1991, Alan joined Glass Mountain Pumice, a natural lightweight aggregate producer headquartered in Reno, Nevada, as marketing manager and director of product development. He eventually served as chief financial officer and vice president during his term of employment. In 1997, Mr. Coyner received a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada Reno and in 1998 began employment with the State of Nevada.

    Currently, Mr. Coyner is administrator of the Division of Minerals for the State of Nevada. The Division reports to the Commission on Mineral Resources and the Governor. The mission of the Division is to conduct activities to further the responsible development and production of the State's mineral resources to benefit and promote the welfare of the people of Nevada. These activities encompass government affairs, which includes mineral education; abandoned mine lands; oil, gas, and geothermal regulation; and the state reclamation bond pool. As administrator of the Division, Mr. Coyner serves on the Nevada Environmental Commission and on the advisory boards of the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology and Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada Reno.

    Mr. Coyner is a certified professional geologist and is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Economic Geologists, Geological Society of Nevada, American Institute of Professional Geologists, and the Society of Mining Engineers. He is married with two children and has been a resident of Nevada since 1988.**
