Homepage. This course on Copper, prepared for the
Nevada SB204 initiative to bring the world wide web into K-12
classrooms, covers the history of copper mining, copper mining in
Nevada, modern copper mining, and copper trade and industry. It offers,
as well, consideration of the nature and properties of copper, the
importance of copper to the development of civilization, and description
of worldwide and multicultural participation in copper mining. In
addition, it refers to appropriate science and technology education
standards for teachers, and includes copper extraction experiments to
perform in the classroom.
